The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

W.J. Lee, rider of Joga Bonito (GB), trained by P. Twomey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was inclined to edge left inside the final furlong.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference inside the final furlong involving South Dakota, ridden by W.M. Lordan, placed first, and Joga Bonito (GB), ridden by W.J. Lee, placed second, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. W.M. Lordan said his horse rolled slightly and was green but felt what interference was caused was minimal. W.J. Lee said his horse edged left on two occasions but ran a straight line thereafter. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and took no further action.

The Raceday Stewards granted a request from Matthew J. Smith, trainer of Queen of Newark, for an additional 10 minutes to present his charge for identification by an IHRB Official in accordance with Rule 90(i).

W.J. Lee, rider of Phoenix Pairc, trained by W. McCreery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lugged right in the straight.

J.M. Sheridan, rider of Glen Breeze, trained by Patrick Magee, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount didn't get a clear run 100 yards from the line.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed S. Foley, rider of Punica Granatum, trained by Mrs John Harrington, concerning his riding on the run to the line where he appeared to ease his riding possibly losing out on fifth place as a result. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated he pulled his filly wide at the top of the straight to make her challenge and she started to pick up. However, at about the 100yrd marker her stride started to shorten and got worse as she got closer to the line. Having viewed the recording and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards accepted the riders explanation with regards to R212(iv). However, they were satisfied the rider was in breach of R213 by failing to report in the first instance anything which may have affected his mounts running and having considered his clean record in this regard, they cautioned him on this occasion.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident inside the last 150 yards involving Hazdann, ridden by C.D. Hayes, and Sinmara (GB), ridden by J.M. Sheridan, where it appeared J.M. Sheridan had to sit for a stride after Hazdann drifted right. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. C.D. Hayes said his mount drifted right for a few strides but he corrected him quickly. J.M. Sheridan said he got slightly tight for room on the run to the line. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action.

J.M. Sheridan, rider of Sinmara (GB), trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that he had to take a slight check 50 yards out.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Almazann, trained by D. K. Weld, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident just before the two furlong mark involving Shemiyka, ridden by S.P. Davis, and Almazann, ridden by C.D. Hayes, where it appeared the two horses made contact. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Cosmetic, trained by A.P.O'Brien, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

C.D. Hayes, rider of Almazann, trained by D. K. Weld, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right in the straight.

G.M. Ryan, rider of Superficial (FR), trained by Andrew McNamara, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left throughout.

W.J. Lee, rider of Youcansaythatagain, trained by A. Oliver, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that he had to take a precautionary check in the straight.

J.A. Powell, rider of Adel (GER), trained by M.D. O'Callaghan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right throughout.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Minella Buoy (GB), trained by John J.Nallen, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from J.P. Murtagh, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Priorstown, placed first, as compared with its recent form. J.P. Murtagh reported through his representative that the step up in trip and the first time cheek pieces may have help bring about the apparent improvement. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report.

J.J.G. Ryan, rider of Nosmokewithoutfire, trained by T.G.McCourt, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right throughout.

Following race three the IHRB Clerk of the Course changed the going to good to yielding.
